“It’s too early to say that DAP and PBDS will be working together, but we have a lot of common grounds and one opponent. So, that lays down the foundation of working together," he was quoted as saying.

Over these last five years, we have remained engaged with the community, supported by government allocations, including those channeled through the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA) and the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP)," Dr Jerip told reporters, quoted by the state tv station.

“All the efforts and projects that were planned have been implemented. So, it is now up to the people to evaluate whether we have carried out our responsibilities well or otherwise,” he said at a press conference following the license presentation ceremony for the 2026 Class B2 Driving License Assistance Programme, organized by the Puncak Borneo Parliamentary constituency in Siburan today.

Willie said Dr Jerip has performed his duties well and has brought various development initiatives to the area.

He added that Dr Jerip’s renomination is also crucial to ensure the continuity of planned development projects.

Willie also voiced his support for the other two elected representatives within the Puncak Borneo parliamentary constituency, Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development Roland Sagah Wee Inn to defend his Tarat state constituency and Miro Simuh to defend the Serembu state constituency.

“In my view, while much progress has been achieved, we must also acknowledge that there are still unresolved issues and shortcomings that can be addressed.

“Should all three of them be renominated, I will give them my full support.

Transport Minister Lee Kim Shin said the achievement is highly commendable, given that the clinic is a relatively new health facility, having been in operation for only about three years.

He was speaking at the ‘Annual Dinner & Celebration of MSQH Accreditation’ for the Miri City Health Clinic held here last night.

Lee said the success demonstrates that an organisation’s age is no barrier to achieving excellence, rather, success depends on strong leadership, a high level of commitment, and teamwork.

He also extended his congratulations to the entire clinic team, including management, medical officers, nurses, healthcare personnel, laboratory and pharmacy staff, as well as administrative and support staff—for their contributions toward attaining this recognition.

Lee expressed his hope that this accreditation will serve as a catalyst for the clinic to consistently maintain high-quality service standards, prioritize patient safety, and act as a benchmark for other health facilities across Sarawak.
