Winding up speech: CM touches on Sarawak tranformation, devolution of power, oil and gas royalty and Najib's commitment
Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem's winding up speech
at the state assembly on Nov 30, 2016
SARAWAK
TRANSFORMATION: THE WAY FORWARD
• Sarawak has continued to strengthen economic resilience
through various measures over the years. Moving forward, there are challenges
to be addressed arising from the uncertainties in the global economy and the
slowdown in the national economy.
The Prime Minister clearly shows that he is willing to discuss this matter with
the State Government and to find solutions to resolve this issue. The State
Government is not making a ‘U’ turn on this matter because we believe that
Federal and State BN Governments being in the family can resolve this issue
amicably between the parties concerned. Diplomacy is better than confrontation.
This consultation approach is manifested through the Prime Minister’s regular
visits to Sarawak and his approval of many projects during his visits. - Adenan Satem
