KUCHING, Dec 16 2025: Mas Gading Member of Parliament Mordi Bimol has expressed his gratitude to the national leadership for their trust in appointing him as the new Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, in a federal Cabinet reshuffle announced by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim earlier today.

He said he accepts the appointment with a sense of responsibility to carry out the trust given to him as best as possible in the interests of the youth and the development of national sports.
“My focus at the initial stage is to fully understand the role and needs of the ministry, in addition to supporting existing efforts in youth and sports development, especially at the grassroots level,”he said in a statement.
Mordi, who is also the Sarawak DAP vice chairman, said as a Member of Parliament, he is aware of his own limitations and the need to continue learning.
“My experience as a representative of the people, especially in rural areas, will be a guide in contributing gradually and based on the reality on the ground.
“At the same time, I will continue to carry out my responsibilities as Member of Parliament for Mas Gading with full commitment,” he said.
He added service to the people and efforts to champion the development needs of the local community will remain a priority, in line with his role as a representative of the people in Parliament.
