77-year old Bujang has been found safe in the jungle

LIMBANG, April 23 2026: A 77-year old villager was found safe this evening, 48 hours after he was reported missing after he and his wife had gone out fishing at Kampung Staie, Bukit Sagan yesterday.

Limbang Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said  Bujang anak Nyanau was found by a search and rescue party in the jungle, about 4km from his longhouse, about 4pm today.

The department said Bujang and his wife had gone out fishing in Sungai Pinang, Bukit Sagan area, about 8am yesterday.

“However, at 4.30pm., Bujang and his wife parted ways. The wife returned home,” the department.

It added a report was then lodged with the police as Bujang had not returned home.

Bomba Limbang Control received a missing person report from the Limbang police.

A search and rescue operation was then initiated this morning, beginning with a route along the first path that the victim and his wife took into the forest.

The victim was found safely by the SAR team at a distance of approximately 4km from the longhouse. “At the same time, a member of the search team experienced shortness of breath and was advised to rest before continuing the journey,” the department said.
