Thousands of consumers along Tabuan Jaya and surrounding areas experiencing dry taps

KUCHING, May 6 2026: Thousands of residents along Jalan Alwi, Tabuan Jaya, Tabuan Kedandi, Tabuan Keranji, Jalan Bayor Bukit, Jalan Song and surrounding areas have experienced dry taps since around 10am this morning.

It is due to the main pipe leak at Tabuan Jaya, catching the residents by surprise.

The installation work is now in progress. It was supposed to be completed at 7pm, then extended to midnight and finally at 5am on May 7.

According to a statement issued by Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd on its Facebook, the main pipe leak repair work is still being carried out by the contractor and is expected to be completed by 12.00 midnight tonight.

But according to the latest notice, the supply is expected to be restored by 5am on May 7.

Water supply will be restored in stages after the repair work is completed.

For now, we are also delivering water supplies using tanker trucks to the affected areas,” the statement.

Sarawak Water extended its apologies for any inconvenience caused to users.

We greatly appreciate all cooperation from all parties,” the statement.

A resident  is hoping for the Sarawak Water to distribute water to Lorong 4F3, Tabuan Desa.
