KUCHING, June 14, 2015 - Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU), the umbrella body for Dayak-based NGOs, will treat an embattled Prime Minister  Najib Razak to a community dinner at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here on Tuesday night.
The Umno president will be accompanied by his wife  Rosmah Mansor  to the dinner which is to mark SDNU 59th anniversary.

The dinner is seen as a Dayak community's support for Najib, who is being criticised for his poor handling of 1MDB by former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad and other Umno leaders as well as the opposition politicians.
Mahathir, the prime minister of 22 years, has been pressuring Najib to step down to "save BN and Umno" from being ousted of power in the next general election.
Chief Minister  Adenan Satem and wife Jamilah Anu are also expected to attend the dinner to be attended by over 1,600 guests.
In  statement today, SDNU said all Dayak ministers be they from the state and federal cabinet as well as all Dayak elected representatives and senators has been invited as guests.
Other invited guests include the rest of the State Cabinet ministers, directors and heads of government departments and agencies,  heads of Dayak-based NGOs, several key community leaders and past presidents of SDNU and that of their women wing Serakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS).
The dinner with the Prime Minister was initially scheduled on May 16 in conjunction with the union May 17's 34th triennial general assembly (TGA) but due to his tight schedule and other more important commitment in May, SDNU postponed the dinner to June 16.
Najib's speech at the dinner is eagerly awaited whether he has some concrete and solid "goodies" for the Dayak community, or is full of rhetorics.
