Was Bruno Manser, a Swiss environmental activist who
lived with the semi-nomadic Penans for six years in the tropical rainforests in
the deep Baram, killed in 2000?
If he was killed, then by who?
Swiss author Ruedi Suter, who authored "Rainforest
Hero: The Life and Death of Bruno Manser" said he has no answer to those
questions.
"I have asked a number of people about the
disappearance of Bruno in the deep forests, and they gave different ideas.

"Some people said he was murdered by the loggers or
hired killers. The police said they have no clues about his disappearance. Or
maybe, he had an accident and died," Suter said when asked about the
mysterious disappearance of the Swiss activist without any trace at the launch
of the book in Kuching today.
"We have to live with the mystery. I can't help you
with the answer and I can't help myself either," he replied.
In 1984 Bruno came to Sarawak where he trekked through
the virgin rainforests of Baram to live among the Penans.
He witnessed the wholesale destruction of one of the
world's most diverse eco-systems through rapid deforestation.
He swore to do everything to stop it.
Bruno's globetrotting campaign brought the world's
attention to tropical defotestation. It also made him an enemy of Asia's timber
barons.- Nov 24, 2015

I am quite convinced that he was murdered by the timber mafia including their swiss bankers.
