Awang Tengah is not telling the truth on NCR land definition

By Baru Bian

I refer to Awang Tengah’s bunkum of a statement ‘NCR Land Perimeter Survey Proof of State Government’s Sincerity’, published on 24 February 2016 in the Borneo Post. Do the 459 areas of 732,080ha surveyed include pemakai menoa and pulau galau? My assumption is that they do not.

This is because the government had appealed the decision of the court in TR Sandah, against this very concept, even though it had been affirmed in the High Court and Court of Appeal in about 30 cases throughout Sarawak to date, affirmed by the Federal Court in the Medeli case and was obiter in the Bisi Jinggut case in the judgment of CJSS Tan Sri Richard Malanjum.

Baram Dam: Dennis Ngau's statement makes the dam issue more perplexing

 By Peter Kallang

The recent statement by Dennis Ngau published in the Borneo Post on Feb 7 under the heading “Move to put off the Baram dam project a sincere one by Chief Minister” made the Baram dam issue even more perplexing.

The fact is that the Chief Minister has never made an official announcement that the Baram dam is being cancelled.

Unbecoming of the headman to assault PKR worker, says Baru Bian

KUCHING, Feb 25, 2016: PKR Sarawak chairman Baru Bian expressed his disappointment and concern over an assault by a village headman on an assistant of PKR candidate for Marudi, Elia Bit, recently.

Bujang Gama was reported to have been physically and verbally assaulted by the headman of a Nanga Ajoi longhouse.
