Thomas Tegong Laka launches first volume of TTL Video CD



KUCHING, Jan 31, 2015: Former RTM Iban Service head Thomas Tegong Laka today launched the first volume of visual video compact disc (CD) which he named Thomas Tegong Laka Video CD.

Each CD is sold for RM6, with most of the proceeds going to the Sarawak DAP.

He said there will be four volumes of his CDs, with each volume having different contents.

In the first volume, he explains why he joins the Sarawak DAP, not any of the State Barisan Nasional component party.


"The first volume is an introduction of my reasons for joining the DAP and my intention to spread the DAP to the Dayak areas and why the Dayaks should be embracing the party," he told reporters at the launch at the State DAP headquarters.

He said the second and subsequent volumes will be containing "Ensera Empulu" or folktales.

"It is a continuation of my Ensera Empulu because I could not finish it while I was working with RTM Iban service.

"My contract with RTM was terminated before I could finish with the folktales," he said.

Thomas or better known as TTL has a large followings among the Iban radio listeners in the rural areas.

"We will be distributing the CDs for sale throughout Sarawak as Mr Thomas has a huge followings of avid listeners and many have asked him to continue with his Ensera Empulu," Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen said at the launch.

He said the party is sponsoring the cost of producing the CDs.

Chong said it is part of the Sarawak DAP "Impian" Initiative to reach to the rural population.
