DAP YBs approached to join Teras claim

KUCHING, May 16, 2014: Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen has claimed that the party's elected representatives were "informally approached" allegedly by Local Government Minister Wong Soon Koh to join Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak (Teras).

Soon Koh and 10 others, including Social Development Minister William Mawan, yesterday announced that they were joining Teras, a party which was registered with the Registrar of Societies (RoS) last year.


Jabu backs DAP to reduce electricity tariffs?

KUCHING, May 16, 2014: Did Deputy Chief Minister Alfred Jabu Numpang know what he was talking about or did he unconsciously give his support to the DAP signature campaign to reduce electricity tariffs in Sarawak?

If he does not support the campaign, why did he question the DAP for excluding the Iban language in the signature campaign pamphlet?

This is puzzling, to say the least.

ABB to review its business in Sarawak?

KUCHING, May 15, 2014: Swedish-Swiss multinational ABB has announced it would review its Malaysia business in a meeting with NGOs held yesterday in Zurich.

The power technology provider has been heavily criticised for its involvement in the controversial Murum dam project in Sarawak.


SPDP paralysed, Mawan quits SPDP

KUCHING, May 15, 2014: Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP), which is embroiling in an internal crisis, has been paralysed with the resignation of its president William Mawan Ikom from the party.

His resignation took effect immediately.
