Eventful year 2011, with increasing number of allegations against Taib Mahmud

The  2011 was an eventful year for Sarawak, with politics continuing to hog the limelight.
Topping the list is the April 16 state election in which the Opposition gave a better show.
For Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP), it was better for its leaders and members to forget the year, hopefully expecting 2012 to be a better year.
Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) continued with its internal squabble which started after the 2009 triennial delegates conference.
Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Sarawak (PBB) and Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) continue to remain stable, but for how long?
Factions have been formed in PBB, now that its chief Abdul Taib Mahmud, wanted to step down midway of his current term. Factional leaders are consolidating their position, with their eyes on party presidency and the chief minister's post.
In the April 16 state election, PBB maintained a 100 per cent record when all its 35 candidates scored victories, out of the 71 seats in the State Legislative Assembly.
But not so for SUPP, the second biggest Barisan Nasional (BN) component party in Sarawak. The party was ousted in 13 out of of the 19 seats it contested.
Among the casualties were party president George Chan (Piasau), treasurer David Teng (Repok), Sibu Municipal Council chairman Tiong Thai King (Dudong) and Youth chief Sih Hua Tong (Batu Lintang).
Dr Chan, claiming full responsibility for his party's poor show, stepped down as the party president at the triennial general meeting early December.
The Opposition DAP won 12 seats, PKR three and an Independent, one.
Sarawak National Party and Parti Cinta Malaysia both suffered humilating defeats.
Things do not look good for SUPP, even after the TGM.
The Wong Soon Koh faction boycotted the TGM, claiming irregularities in the branch elections. The WSK faction had lodged reports with the Registrar of Societies on the alleged irregularities.
Peter Chin Fah Kui, the Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, is the new party of SUPP, replacing Dr Chan.
Chin promised to transform and rejuvenate SUPP into a political force it once was.
Almost all the party top guns are behind Chin.
The internal squabble in SPDP was highlighted with the sacking of its former secretary-general Sylvester Entrie Muran, and the stripping of party posts of four other senior party members.
Entrie, a one-time tipped to be the next party president after William Mawan Ikom, was sacked for gross indiscipline while Dr Tiki Lafe, Peter Nansian, Rosey Yunus and Paulus Gumbang, were stripped of their positions in the party for failing to attend the party's supreme council meeting since 2009.
Other major issues highlighting 2011 were an increasing number of allegations of corruption against Taib Mahmud and his family members and the native customary rights (NCR) land.
Taib Mahmud, chief minister since 1981, was forced to issue a personal statement in the June sitting of the State Assembly to deny that he had a personal bank accounts in Switzerland.
Bruno Manser Fund has been compaigning relentlessly against Taib Mahmud and his family members for allegedly abusing his power to enrich him and his family members.
The campaign have been held in Germany, Switzerland, Canada and United Kingdom, asking these governments to conduct investigations into properties held by Taib Mahmud and his family members.
Sarawak Report, a whistleblower website, has written numerous articles on Taib Mahmud and his family members.
So far Taib Mahmud or members of his State Cabinet have been quiet on the series of allegations.
Taib Mahmud was furious when a reporter with a mainstream paper asked him to comment on a call by 17 non-governmental organisations from many countries, including Malaysia, for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency (MACC), Attorney-General's Chambers and the police, to arrest him and 13 members of his family.
We expect the allegations against Taib and his family members to continue in the incoming year and beyond.
As in the previous years, the year 2011 saw more NCR landowners bringing their cases to court in their effort to stop plantation companies from encroaching into their property.
The NCR landowners, mostly through lawyers Baru Bian and See Chee How, have been filing cases with the court. And in the cases that have been settled and decided in the High Court, the landowners have scored victories against the plantation companies, Pelita and state government.
A total of about 200 cases have been filed in court, not just through Baru Bian and See Chee How, but also other lawyers.
So, we should see more NCR land cases to be heard in court next year and more cases to be filed as well, since the state goverment is intent in opening up more land for oil palm plantations.
We see 2012 to remain as exciting as the year 2011.- Sematong Express

Irresponsible Jabu comes under fire

Kuching (Dec 27, 2011): Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang came under fire today for being irresponsible for not updating the people of Sarawak on the flood situation.
"Where  is Jabu, who took over from Tan Sri Dr George Chan as chairman of the state disaster and relief management committee, now?
"I hope he will be more responsible, at least giving a daily briefing to the press so that they, in turn, will inform the general public on the current flood situation," Sarawak PKR vice chairman See Chee How told reporters today.
"Let the people know, especially the travelling public, on the areas affected by the floods," he said.
"If Jabu is on leave now, he must recall himself and go and visit the flooded areas," See, the Batu Lintang state assemblyman, said.
He said he had not heard of Jabu visiting the flooded areas or flood victims.
He charged that Jabu, by not giving a daily briefing, was deliberately keeping the public in the dark.
“The travelling public wants to know which areas or roads are flooded so that they would not go there or postponed their trip. But without such information, they are not able to know,” he said.
Meanwhile, a total of 2825 victims from 726 families from Kuching district were at nine relief centres as at 11.45am today.
He said 1,435 victims from 288 families from Kampung Simpok were taking shelter at SK St Peter while 458 victims from 115 families from Kampung Beradek were staying at SK Beradek.
“A total of 294 victims from 252 families from Kampung Semilang are sheltered at Masjid/Tadika Kemas at the village,” he said after being briefed by Deputy Resident of Kuching Division, Zamahari Saidi.
The other evacuees are 138 from 31 families from Kampung Tupong Jaya sheltered at Dewan Kampung Tupong, 47 from nine families from Kampung Sungai Maong at Masjid Darul Istiqah, 95 from 19 families from Kampung Sungai Laru at Balairaya Kampung Sungai Laru and 38 from nine families from Kampung Semariang Teruntum at Dewan Baru Semariang Batu.
See said that two relief centres at SK Tupong and Tadika Kemas of Kampung Gita, which houses 10 families from Kampung Tupong and Kampung Gita Lama and Laut, had been closed since it was safe for them to return home.
He said he was informed that all the evacuees were expected to return home by tomorrow if the weather continued to improve.
He said Kuching Division, covering the administrative districts of Bau, Lundu and Kuching, was the worst affected by the floods in Sarawak.
See questioned the effectiveness of the RM148m phase one of the flood mitigation canal in minimising the flood situation in Kuching and Bau districts.
“It was supposed to drain away excess rain water from Sarawak Kiri River to Salak River, passing through Santubong and into the sea.
“But instead, the excess rain water from the catchment continues to flow through Sarawak Kiri River, thus causing floods in Petra Jaya, Semariang and Tupong,” he said.
He said it was supposed to reduce incidence of flooding in Upper Padawan area, but it did not.
“Kampung Simpok in Padawan is one of the worst affected areas in Kuching district,” he said.
He said the reply he received from Assistant Minister of Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh was that the phase one, involving the construction of a diversion canal, was sufficient to reduce floodings in Petra Jaya, Tupong and Semariang.
“So, I am quite puzzled as to the effectiveness of the flood mitigation canal,” he said, adding that whole flood mitigation project was estimated to cost RM2 billion.

Baru's Christmas and New Year message

Christmas and New Year message from YB Baru Bian, State Assemblyman for Ba'Kelalan
and Sarawak PKR chief

A Time to Give

‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.’
                                                                                      John 3:16

As we take time out from our busy schedules to celebrate the birth of Christ, I would like to reflect on the essence of Christmas and what it means to Christians who give thanks for the gift of Christ from God our Father. The biblical quotation above captures perfectly the message of Christmas – it is about giving. Just as God gave his Son to us, we too, out of love for our neighbours and friends, should think about, and practise giving to our family and friends, and our brothers and sisters in this State, and even in the country.

But what is it that we can give to our fellow citizens? It is well-known that Sarawak is one of the poorest states in Malaysia. Many of her citizens eke out an existence on very little earnings per household. The rate of poverty in the state has increased from 4.2% in 2007 to 5.3% in 2009; there are 28,505 people registered as poor including 2993 classified as hard-core poor. The government acknowledges that this figure is expected to increase over the next few years. These are the official figures from the authorities but due to the remoteness and inaccessibility of the interior, for every person registered, there are many more who are not.

In showing our love and compassion for those people who are less fortunate than us, it is commendable that we share what we have with them this Christmas season by giving material goods, money and food to the poor and needy. God gave us all in life without any conditions, and so should we give in the same spirit of all-encompassing love for our fellow citizens. I truly commend and applaud the kindness of Sarawakians who give generously each year in cash and in kind, and in giving their time to visit the old, the sick and the abandoned in homes during the festive season. Indeed Christmas is a time when we find joy in giving.

Many of us make our yearly donations and tell ourselves that we have paid our dues to society for the year, and we hang up our donor hats until next Christmas rolls along. Is this ‘giving’ in the true sense of the word as God gave to us? It is not. A yearly charitable contribution, while noble and good, is not sufficient to pull our less fortunate brothers and sisters out of the morass of poverty in which they find themselves through no fault of their own.

There is much more that the people of this state and country need. Besides food, clothing and shelter, we need to live in a society that is free and fair, to be governed by people who put our interests first and make decisions that are beneficial to the state, without fear or favour. We need a government that is righteous, that will protect and help those who are unable to help themselves, that will eschew corruption, nepotism and cronyism. We need a government made up of people who will not plunder our heritage and birthright to enrich themselves, while the poor are made to suffer more as a result of the plunder. We need good governance.

We cannot turn a blind eye anymore to the abuses of the current government and the resulting impoverishment to the people affected. Many people in the cities and towns who have stable jobs and earn a good wage have no appreciable comprehension of the very real issues of survival faced by those living in the rural areas. We are blessed in that our country is rich in natural resources and we are free from natural disasters – unlike our neighbouring countries such as Thailand and the Philippines, which have been hit by massive flooding in the recent months. However, we must open our eyes to the misdeeds of the very people to whom we entrust the administration of the state. Our native brothers and sisters are losing their livelihood while those in government and their cronies get richer by the continuing rampant abuse of power. It is especially galling and offensive that our downtrodden brothers and sisters are exhorted by those who steal from them to be grateful for a government that ‘cares for them’.

This Christmas season, I urge everyone to reflect on the meaning of giving to those who need our help the most. Thankfully, we are not called upon to give up our lives as Christ did, but we can show our love and concern for our fellow citizens by giving them the best chance of regaining their livelihood and to improve the lot of those who are trapped in the vicious cycle of poverty. We can give to them and indeed, to ourselves the opportunity of change by exercising our right to vote in the coming General Elections and by exercising our right prudently. This would be a gift of a lifeline, not only for us today but also for the generations to come. And the time for the giving is NOW! It is time for justice and righteousness to prevail and we have the power to bring about the change. It is my prayer that our Fair Land Sarawak will come into her own and for her and her proud people to once again be free and to prosper. I give thanks to God that He has blessed Sarawak with abundant resources and that there are many who have a deep love for and a strong connection with the land. Let us vote for a Government that will be a Government FOR the people so that all Sarawakians may reap and enjoy what rightfully belongs to all her citizens. In such a way, we can say ‘we have given’ in the spirit of Christmas. And in so giving, we will all receive the gift of a new beginning for our beloved Sarawak.

I wish all Sarawakians and all our friends both Christian and non-Christian throughout Malaysia and around the world a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Christmas greetings to all

The family of Sematong Express wishes to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all Sarawakians.

The secret account of the revelation that Jesus spoke in conversation with Judas Iscariot
during a week three days before he celebrated Passover.
T
NTRODUCTION: INCIPITHE EARTHLY MINISTRY OF JESUS
When Jesus appeared on earth, he performed miracles and great wonders for the salvation
of humanity. And since some [walked] in the way of righteousness while others walked
in their transgressions, the twelve disciples were called.
He began to speak with them about the mysteries beyond the world and what would
take place at the end. Often he did not appear to his disciples as himself, but he was found
among them as a child.
S
One day he was with his disciples in Judea, and he found them gathered together and
seated in pious observance. When he [approached] his disciples, [34] gathered together
and seated and offering a prayer of thanksgiving over the bread, [he] laughed.
The disciples said to [him], “Master, why are you laughing at [our] prayer of
thanksgiving? We have done what is right.”
He answered and said to them, “I am not laughing at you. <You> are not doing this
because of your own will but because it is through this that your god [will be] praised.”
They said, “Master, you are […] the son of our god.”
Jesus said to them, “How do you know me? Truly [I] say to you, no generation of the
people that are among you will know me.”
T
When his disciples heard this, they started getting angry and infuriated and began
blaspheming against him in their hearts.
When Jesus observed their lack of [understanding, he said] to them, “Why has this
agitation led you to anger? Your god who is within you and […] [35] have provoked you
to anger [within] your souls. [Let] any one of you who is [strong enough] among human
beings bring out the perfect human and stand before my face.”
They all said, “We have the strength.”
But their spirits did not dare to stand before [him], except for Judas Iscariot. He was
able to stand before him, but he could not look him in the eyes, and he turned his face
away.
Judas [said] to him, “I know who you are and where you have come from. You are
from the immortal realm of Barbelo. And I am not worthy to utter the name of the one
who has sent you.”
J
Knowing that Judas was reflecting upon something that was exalted, Jesus said to him,
“Step away from the others and I shall tell you the mysteries of the kingdom. It is
possible for you to reach it, but you will grieve a great deal. [36] For someone else will
replace you, in order that the twelve [disciples] may again come to completion with their
god.”
Judas said to him, “When will you tell me these things, and [when] will the great day
of light dawn for the generation?”
But when he said this, Jesus left him.
S
The next morning, after this happened, Jesus [appeared] to his disciples again.
They said to him, “Master, where did you go and what did you do when you left us?”
Jesus said to them, “I went to another great and holy generation.”
His disciples said to him, “Lord, what is the great generation that is superior to us and
holier than us, that is not now in these realms?”
When Jesus heard this, he laughed and said to them, “Why are you thinking in your
hearts about the strong and holy generation? [37] Truly [I] say to you, no one born [of]
this aeon will see that [generation], and no host of angels of the stars will rule over that
generation, and no person of mortal birth can associate with it, because that generation
does not come from […] which has become […]. The generation of people among [you]
is from the generation of humanity […] power, which [… the] other powers […] by
[which] you rule.”
When [his] disciples heard this, they each were troubled in spirit. They could not say a
word.
Another day Jesus came up to [them]. They said to [him], “Master, we have seen you
in a [vision], for we have had great [dreams …] night […].”
[He said], “Why have [you … when] <you> have gone into hiding?” [38]

T
They [said, “We have seen] a great [house with a large] altar [in it, and] twelve
men—they are the priests, we would say—and a name; and a crowd of people is waiting
at that altar, [until] the priests [… and receive] the offerings. [But] we kept waiting.”
[Jesus said], “What are [the priests] like?”
They [said, “Some …] two weeks; [some] sacrifice their own children, others their
wives, in praise [and] humility with each other; some sleep with men; some are involved
in [slaughter]; some commit a multitude of sins and deeds of lawlessness. And the men
who stand [before] the altar invoke your [name], [39] and in all the deeds of their
deficiency, the sacrifices are brought to completion […].”
After they said this, they were quiet, for they were troubled.
J
Jesus said to them, “Why are you troubled? Truly I say to you, all the priests who stand
before that altar invoke my name. Again I say to you, my name has been written on this
[…] of the generations of the stars through the human generations. [And they] have
planted trees without fruit, in my name, in a shameful manner.”
Jesus said to them, “Those you have seen receiving the offerings at the altar—that is
who you are. That is the god you serve, and you are those twelve men you have seen. The
cattle you have seen brought for sacrifice are the many people you lead astray [40] before
that altar. […] will stand and make use of my name in this way, and generations of the
pious will remain loyal to him. After hi another man will stand there from [the
fornicators], and another [will] stand there from the slayers of children, and another from
those who sleep with men, and those who abstain, and the rest of the people of pollution
and lawlessness and error, and those who say, ‘We are like angels’; they are the stars that
bring everything to its conclusion. For to the human generations it has been said, ‘Look,
God has received your sacrifice from the hands of a priest’—that is, a minister of error.
But it is the Lord, the Lord of the universe, who commands, ‘On the last day they will be
put to shame.’” [41]
Jesus said [to them], “Stop sac[rificing …] which you have […] over the altar, since
they are over your stars and your angels and have already come to their conclusion there.
So let them be [ensnared] before you, and let them go [—about 15 lines missing—]
generations […]. A baker cannot feed all creation [42] under [heaven]. And […] to them
[…] and […] to us and […].
Jesus said to them, “Stop struggling with me. Each of you has his own star, and
every[body—about 17 lines missing—] [43] in […] who has come [… spring] for the tree
[…] of this aeon […] for a time […] but he has come to water God’s paradise, and the
[generation] that will last, because [he] will not defile the [walk of life of] that
generation, but […] for all eternity.”
J
Judas said to [him, “Rabb]i, what kind of fruit does this generation produce?”
Jesus said, “The souls of every human generation will die. When these people,
however, have completed the time of the kingdom and the spirit leaves them, their bodies
will die but their souls will be alive, and they will be taken up.”
Judas said, “And what will the rest of the human generations do?”
Jesus said, “It is impossible [44] to sow seed on [rock] and harvest its fruit. [This] is
also the way […] the [defiled] generation […] and corruptible Sophia […] the hand that
has created mortal people, so that their souls go up to the eternal realms above. [Truly] I
say to you, […] angel […] power will be able to see that […] these to whom […] holy
generations […].”
After Jesus said this, he departed.

S
Judas said, “Master, as you have listened to all of them, now also listen to me. For I have
seen a great vision.”
When Jesus heard this, he laughed and said to him, “You thirteenth spirit, why do you
try so hard? But speak up, and I shall bear with you.”
Judas said to him, “In the vision I saw myself as the twelve disciples were stoning me
and [45] persecuting [me severely]. And I also came to the place where […] after you. I
saw [a house …], and my eyes could not [comprehend] its size. Great people were
surrounding it, and that house <had> a roof of greenery, and in the middle of the house
was [a crowd—two lines missing—], saying, ‘Master, take me in along with these
people.’”
[Jesus] answered and said, “Judas, your star has led you astray.” He continued, “No
person of mortal birth is worthy to enter the house you have seen, for that place is
reserved for the holy. Neither the sun nor the moon will rule there, nor the day, but the
holy will abide there always, in the eternal realm with the holy angels. Look, I have
explained to you the mysteries of the kingdom [46] and I have taught you about the error
of the stars; and […] send it […] on the twelve aeons.”
J
Judas said, “Master, could it be that my seed is under the control of the rulers?”
Jesus answered and said to him, “Come, that I [—two lines missing—], but that you
will grieve much when you see the kingdom and all its generation.”
When he heard this, Judas said to him, “What good is it that I have received it? For
you have set me apart for that generation.”
Jesus answered and said, “You will become the thirteenth, and you will be cursed by
the other generations—and you will come to rule over them. In the last days they will
curse your ascent [47] to the holy [generation].”
J
Jesus said, “[Come], that I may teach you about [secrets] no person [has] ever seen. For
there exists a great and boundless realm, whose extent no generation of angels has seen,
[in which] there is [a] great invisible [Spirit],

which no eye of an angel has ever seen,

“And a luminous cloud appeared there. He said, ‘Let an angel come into being as my
attendant.’
“A great angel, the enlightened divine Self-Generated, emerged from the cloud.
Because of him, four other angels came into being from another cloud, and they became
attendants for the angelic Self-Generated. The Self-Generated said, [48] ‘Let […] come
into being […],’ and it came into being […]. And he [created] the first luminary to reign
over him. He said, ‘Let angels come into being to serve [him],’ and myriads without
number came into being. He said, ‘[Let] an enlightened aeon come into being,’ and he
came into being. He created the second luminary [to] reign over him, together with
myriads of angels without number, to offer service. That is how he created the rest of the

He made the incorruptible [generation] of Seth appear […] the twelve […] the twentyfour

accordance with the will of the Spirit. The seventy-two luminaries themselves made three
hundred sixty luminaries appear in the incorruptible generation, in accordance with the
will of the Spirit, that their number should be five for each.
“The twelve aeons of the twelve luminaries constitute their father, with six heavens for
each aeon, so that there are seventy-two heavens for the seventy-two luminaries, and for
each [50] [of them five] firmaments, [for a total of] three hundred sixty [firmaments …].
They were given authority and a [great] host of angels [without number], for glory and
adoration, [and after that also] virgin spirits, for glory and [adoration] of all the aeons and
the heavens and their firmaments.
T
“The multitude of those immortals is called the cosmos— that is, perdition—by the
Father and the seventy-two luminaries who are with the Self-Generated and his seventytwo
aeons. In him the first human appeared with his incorruptible powers. And the aeon
that appeared with his generation, the aeon in whom are the cloud of knowledge and the
angel, is called [51] El. […] aeon […] after that […] said, ‘Let twelve angels come into
being [to] rule over chaos and the [underworld].’ And look, from the cloud there
appeared an [angel] whose face flashed with fire and whose appearance was defiled with
blood. His name was Nebro, which means ‘rebel’; others call him Yaldabaoth. Another
angel, Saklas, also came from the cloud. So Nebro created six angels—as well as
Saklas—to be assistants, and these produced twelve angels in the heavens, with each one
receiving a portion in the heavens.
T
“The twelve rulers spoke with the twelve angels: ‘Let each of you [52] […] and let them
[…] generation [—one line lost—] angels’:
The first is [S]eth, who is called Christ.
The [second] is Harmathoth, who is […].
The [third] is Galila.
The fourth is Yobel.
The fifth [is] Adonaios.
These are the five who ruled over the underworld, and first of all over chaos.
T
“Then Saklas said to his angels, ‘Let us create a human being after the likeness and after
the image.’ They fashioned Adam and his wife Eve, who is called, in the cloud, Zoe. For
by this name all the generations seek the man, and each of them calls the woman by these
names. Now, Sakla did not [53] com[mand …] except […] the gene[rations …] this […].
And the [ruler] said to Adam, ‘You shall live long, with your children.’”

J
Judas said to Jesus, “[What] is the long duration of time that the human being will live?”
Jesus said, “Why are you wondering about this, that Adam, with his generation, has
lived his span of life in the place where he has received his kingdom, with longevity with
his ruler?”
Judas said to Jesus, “Does the human spirit die?”
Jesus said, “This is why God ordered Michael to give the spirits of people to them as a
loan, so that they might offer service, but the Great One ordered Gabriel to grant spirits to
the great generation with no ruler over it—that is, the spirit and the soul. Therefore, the
[rest] of the souls [54] [—one line missing—].
J
“[…] light [—nearly two lines missing—] around […] let […] spirit [that is] within you
dwell in this [flesh] among the generations of angels. But God caused knowledge to be
[given] to Adam and those with him, so that the kings of chaos and the underworld might
not lord it over them.”
Judas said to Jesus, “So what will those generations do?”
Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, for all of them the stars bring matters to completion.
When Saklas completes the span of time assigned for him, their first star will appear with
the generations, and they will finish what they said they would do. Then they will
fornicate in my name and slay their children [55] and they will […] and [—about six and
a half lines missing—] my name, and he will […] your star over the [thir]teenth aeon.”
After that Jesus [laughed].
[Judas said], “Master, [why are you laughing at us]?”
[Jesus] answered [and said], “I am not laughing [at you] but at the error of the stars,
because these six stars wander about with these five combatants, and they all will be
destroyed along with their creatures.”
J
Judas said to Jesus, “Look, what will those who have been baptized in your name do?”
Jesus said, “Truly I say [to you], this baptism [56] […] my name [—about nine lines
missing—] to me. Truly [I] say to you, Judas, [those who] offer sacrifices to Saklas […]
God [—three lines missing—] everything that is evil.

They approached Judas and said to him, “What are you doing here? You are Jesus’
disciple.”
Judas answered them as they wished. And he received some money and handed him over
to them.

PKR lodges report with MACC against Taib

Kuching (Dec 22, 2012): Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy chairman Zulrusdi Mohamad Hol has lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agenccy (MACC) against Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud for alleged corruption and abuse of power.
He said he made the report based on a report “Richer Than The Queen” by a whistleblower website, Sarawak Report on Dec 4, 2011.
Zulrusdi, who was accompanied by Petra Jaya PKR branch leaders, also handed over a printed out copy of the report to the MACC state headquarters at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar  on Tuesday.
He urged MACC personnel not to be scared of conducting their investigation.
“They must also be transparent in their investigation,” he told reporters after lodging the report with MACC.
He said there was basis for the MACC to conduct their investigation based on the Sarawak Report’s report.
“My PKR Petra Jaya branch,  of which I am the chairman, had a meeting last week and one of things we decided to do was to lodge the report with MACC,” he said.
Zulrusdi was the second person to lodge a report with the MACC on the same Sarawak Report’s report.
The first was by a PAS branch of Beting Maro in Sri Aman Division last week. The report was lodged in Kuala Lumpur.
Meanwhile, Zulrusdi criticized Taib for getting angry with reporters for asking him to comment on a call by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) including those from Malaysia to MACC, Attorney-General and police to arrest Taib and 13 members of his family.
After opening a halal industry exhibition at the Kuching Waterfront last Saturday, Taib was angry when the reporters asked him to response to the call.
“That’s a lie,” he was heard shouting at the reporters at an impromptu press conference.
Zulrusdi said Taib should clear his name, if he had nothing to hide, and not angry with the reporters.

Motorcycle owner receives postal traffic summon, when the offending vehicle is a four-wheel drive

A farmer from Bau, Yong Ted Kong, has lodged a report with the police at the One Stop Centre in Simpang Tiga here today, complaining that he has been issued with a postal traffic summon: all because someone had misused his motorcycle plate number on a four-wheel drive.

The 4D vehicle was parked within a yellow line along Datuk Edward Jeli Road in Miri between 2pm and 3pm on Feb 11, 2010 .

The 4D vehicle was booked by the police, and as a result, Yong received the postal traffic summon from Bukit Aman traffic department.

Both the motorcycle and 4D vehicle bore the same KQ8772Q plate number.

The postal summon stated that Yong had parked his 4D vehicle along the yellow line and must settle the fine first before he could renew his road tax or driving licence.

Yong said the vehicle was not his nor he had any 4D vehicle in his possession.

"I am a poor farmer, so how could I afford to have one," he said.

He owned the motorcycle, but then it was already condemned in 2004. He said he had already dismantled the motorcycle.

"I have never brought my motorcycle to Miri before it was condemned as a scrap metal in 2004. How could the police issue me with the summon when the offending vehicle was a 4D vehicle," he told reporters at the Simpang police station.

Yong showed to reporters the "Green" Card of the motorcycle with the KQ8772Q plate number.

"So, you can see that this card belongs to the motorcycle, not the 4D vehicle," he stressed.

Padungan State Assemblyman Wong King Wei, who accompanied Yong in lodging the report, said two things could have happened that resulted in Yong getting the postal summon - either a policeman, who booked the 4D vehicle for parking along the yellow line, had misused his position or that a syndicate was involved in misusing the motorcycle plate number.

Wong said he received between three and five complaints each week from vehicle owners that they had been issued with the postal traffic summons for traffic offences allegedly committed at places they had never been to or brought their vehicles to such towns on certain days and times.

He said Yong's case was one such example.

Wong wanted the police to conduct an investigation into such cases.

"In fact, I have written to Bukit Aman traffic department to cancel the postal traffic summons issued to the vehicle owners if they can justify and provide proof that their vehicles have never been driven to places where the alleged traffic offences were said to have been committed.

"But sad to say, the police did not respond to my lettes," he said.

PKR Wanita asks EC where does the ink come from

PKR Wanita vice chairman Voon Shiak Ni, expressing her concern, said that Election Commission chairman Aziz Yusof has failed to say where the indelible ink would be sourced.

She said Aziz was only telling that the ink was being used in the elections in other countries.

"He did also not say the specification on the source and content of the ink which can amount to non-transparency. Further, there is no specification on how the ink is to be applied, for example, on which finger.

"If there is no specification, it opens up the whole process to another form of manipulations of the voters and the voting system.

"The specifications should be disclosed to avoid irregularities during the process of voting and to close all rooms for manipulations of voters and voting system," Voon said.

On the issue of advance voting, she asked who are to monitor or supervise the process when the soldiers and police cast their votes.

"Will there be an independent bodies to supervise the process of advance voting?" she asked.

She said the results of advance voting be counted and announced immediately to avoid manipulation.

"We don't want to see that the results be counted and announced after the results of the ordinary voting have been counted and announced as in the case of postal voting," she said.

"We want to know whether the commission would be announcing the results immediately after they have been counted?" she asked.

BN man taking advantage of poor Bidayuh farmers, alleges Willie Tumek

A PKR leader has accused a "BN man" of having no moral for taking advantage of the poor Bidayuh farmers, desperately looking for money for their children's studies in universities.

"Based on my experience, the poor Bidayuh farmers would approach you and offer to sell their NCR land at a certain price they name.

"I have been approached by the Bidayuh farmers who wanted to sell their land to me. But I refused because I knew it was morally wrong to buy their land when they were in need of money for their children's education.

"However, this BN man thought differently. He pretended that he has so much land and does not need anymore land, but willing to buy the land at a much lower price than that offered by the farmers.

"The farmers have no choice because they do not have any money to send their children to universities, so they sell their land to this BN man," alleged Willie Tumek at a press conference today.

He said most of the NCR land bought by the BN man have been planted with oil palm within the Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority's (Salcra) in Bratak and Undan estates.

"As a result, this BN man is the single largest recipient of dividends from Salcra. Based on my information, he received about RM1million,"Willie said.

Letter to Taib Mahmud

Taib Mahmud should not be angry at reporters asking him for his comment on the demand by the 17 NGOs for the MACC, Attorney-General and Police to arrest him and 13 members of his family.
Just tell the reporters nicely and it will not hurt.
What's wrong with you, huh?
Come on lah, these reporters have a duty and job to do, and that is why they ask you the question.
It is in the public interest that they ask you the question because the allegations have been thrown at you.
You need to clear your name and the names of your family members.
I am very sure that you have absolutely NOTHING TO HIDE AT ALL.
So, why do you get angry with the reporters?
They cant be writing all the "good" things about you all the time. In fact, you should be happy with that kind of question. It is a form of perception and feedback from the public on what they trully think about you and your family members.
Clear your name and be gentleman, brother. Issue a statement lah like what you did in the state assembky sitting in June this year.
The public want you to deny that you and your family have no companies all over the world. That's all.

Dr Jeffrey is now a STAR member

Jeffrey’s back to active politics

Luke Rintod
 | December 16, 2011
Sarawak Reform Party (STAR) officially announced Sabah politician Jeffrey Kitingan as the chairman of its Sabah chapter.
KOTA KINABALU: Maverick Jeffrey Kitingan, who has been without a party since he left PKR one year ago, has now joined a reactivated 16-year-old Sarawak party, Sarawak Reform Party (STAR).
STAR president, Dripin Sakoi, presented Jeffrey a membership card and document empowering him to lead a Sabah chapter of the party in time for the 13th general election.
Four other Jeffrey allies in Sabah, who also received their membership cards from Sakoi today, are Guandi Kohoi, Rubin Guribah, Jeffrey Telado and James Aik.
Sakoi, who took over the presidency from STAR founder Patau Rubis in March, surprised everyone in the packed hall of a restaurant in Penampang, near here, when he invited the five to come forward and received their STAR cards while he was giving a short speech after Jeffrey finished his.
“We in STAR fully subscribed and support the Borneo Agenda of UBF (United Borneo Front) and it is time now for us to unite… I am calling on Jeffrey to come forward and receive his membership. He is now to lead the Sabah chapter,” Dripin said amidst applause from the some 300 supporters of UBF and guests.
FMT learnt that Jeffrey will tonight be meeting with his people to set up an organising committee for the launching of STAR Sabah on Jan 6.
It is understood that that Hongkod Koisaan hall, which is the headquarters of the Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA), has been booked. The 4,000-capacity hall will be the site for Jeffrey’s clarion call to gather together the much-touted third force.
Earlier in his press conference, Jeffrey did not mention joining any party. Neither did he say anything about it his hour-long speech.
In his speech, he reiterated his frequent call for the people to unite and see the reality of false hope and broken dreams spun by the then regime.
“We have been duped because we were too young to comprehend then (1963).
“They exploited us until we became just one of the 13 states in the federation, until we have become the poorest in this country.
“We must put a stop to this and the only way is to unite once again to fight for our independence and our rights,” Jeffrey said.

STAR on the lookout

Over the past year, Jeffrey has been travelling all over Sabah holding hundreds of tea-parties to explain and galvanise people to support his Borneo Agenda.
Badaruddin Datu Mustapha Harun, son of a former chief minister, was one of two speakers at the event. The other was Sabah Progressive People’s Party (SAPP) deputy president Amdi Sidek.
Badaruddin urged all the three major native communities in Sabah – Muslims, non-Muslims and Chinese – to unite and vote Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) out of Sabah at the next general election.
“I have this message for Prime Minister (Najib Tun Razak): ‘kalau anak jantan, kasih daftar parti Usno sekarang…’” said Badaruddin, whose challenge to Najib was met with thunderous applause from the floor.
Badaruddin is the pro-tem president of Usno Baru which has thrown its support behind Jeffrey’s Borneo Agenda.
Among the guests who witnessed the event were Sabah Progressive Peoples Party (SAPP) adviser, Mohd Noor Mansor, former Suhakam commissioner Simon Sipaun, activists Patrick Sindu and Kalakau Untol.
The event was to celebrate the first anniversary of UBF which was launched a year ago in this same venue. Today is also the date of STAR’s 16th anniversay.
Meanwhile, Rubis, who is now the party’s permanent chairman, has dismissed any links between the party and UBF.
He said STAR was now looking for strategic partners to continue its struggle.
