PKR lodges report with MACC against Taib

Kuching (Dec 22, 2012): Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy chairman Zulrusdi Mohamad Hol has lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agenccy (MACC) against Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud for alleged corruption and abuse of power.
He said he made the report based on a report “Richer Than The Queen” by a whistleblower website, Sarawak Report on Dec 4, 2011.
Zulrusdi, who was accompanied by Petra Jaya PKR branch leaders, also handed over a printed out copy of the report to the MACC state headquarters at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar  on Tuesday.
He urged MACC personnel not to be scared of conducting their investigation.
“They must also be transparent in their investigation,” he told reporters after lodging the report with MACC.
He said there was basis for the MACC to conduct their investigation based on the Sarawak Report’s report.
“My PKR Petra Jaya branch,  of which I am the chairman, had a meeting last week and one of things we decided to do was to lodge the report with MACC,” he said.
Zulrusdi was the second person to lodge a report with the MACC on the same Sarawak Report’s report.
The first was by a PAS branch of Beting Maro in Sri Aman Division last week. The report was lodged in Kuala Lumpur.
Meanwhile, Zulrusdi criticized Taib for getting angry with reporters for asking him to comment on a call by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) including those from Malaysia to MACC, Attorney-General and police to arrest Taib and 13 members of his family.
After opening a halal industry exhibition at the Kuching Waterfront last Saturday, Taib was angry when the reporters asked him to response to the call.
“That’s a lie,” he was heard shouting at the reporters at an impromptu press conference.
Zulrusdi said Taib should clear his name, if he had nothing to hide, and not angry with the reporters.
