PKR list of potential candidates for 2016 Sarawak election






These are some of the PKR's potential candidates for 2016 election, with party president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail (6th from left) and deputy president Azmi Ali (7th from left) at the launch of PKR operation centre at Batu Empat, Kuching.

1. N.2 TASIK BIRU – Boniface Willy Tumek, Male, 58, Dayak Bidayuh (Graduated with Diploma in Banking Studies from Universiti Teknologi Mara, former banker and currently Unit Trust Consultant and Businessman.)

2. N.6 TUPONG – Nurhanim Hanna Mokhsen, Female, 45, Malay (Graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality and Tourism, and currently managing family business.)

3. N.8 SATOK – Mohamed Salleh Shawkatali, Male, 34, Malay (Businessman, and Chairman of NGO Persatuan Anak Muda Sarawak.)

4. N.11 BATU LINTANG – YB See Chee How, Male, ??, Chinese (Activist and Land Rights Lawyer)

5. N.13 BATU KITANG – Voon Shiak Ni, Female, 46, Chinese (Graduated with Letters of Law (Bachelor Honours) from the University of London, former educator, and currently Human Rights Lawyer.)

6. N.18 SEREMBU – Athina Klaywa Sim, Female, 26, Dayak Bidayuh (Graduated from Universiti Utara Malaysia with Letters of Law (Bachelor Honours), a practising advocate and solicitor currently attached to Messrs. Baru Bian Advocate, and Activist.)

7. N.19 MAMBONG – Willie Mongin, Male, ??, Dayak Bidayuh (Graduated from the University of Staffordshire, UK, with Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computing, has worked in various industries namely Banking, Food and Beverages, Property Development & Plantations and international Food distribution and currently an IT Entrepreneur.)

8. N.20 TARAT – Musa Ngog, Male, 33, Dayak Bidayuh (Graduated from the University Malaysia Sabah with a Bachelor of Science Honours in Multimedia Technology, published two books, former Publicity Chief of Persatuan Kebajikan Bidayuh Biannah, and currently IT Engineer, IT Trainer and Tutor at local private university. )

9. N.28 LINGGA – Abg Zulkifli Abg Engkeh, Male,55, Malay (Graduated with a Bachelor of Social Sciences Honours and former Government Servant.)

10. N.32 SIMANGGANG – Norina Umoi Utot, Female, 54, Dayak Iban (Graduated from the University of Winnipeg, Canada, with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK, with a Master in Business Administration (MBA), former Supreme Council member of Dayak Chamber of Commerce & Industry, former PBDS Supreme Council member for 2 terms, completed research on Dayak High School Dropouts and currently a Team Leader of Governance in the Oil & Gas Industry in Oman).

11. N.34 BATANG AI – Kolien Liong, Male, 46, Iban (Graduated with a Bachelor of Science Honours in Engineering and currently an Overhead Line Engineer.)

12. N.35 SARIBAS – Yakup bin Daud, Male, 56, Malay (Graduated from the Universiti Pertanian Malaysia, Serdang with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Communications followed by a Master Degree in Human Resource Development, and recently retired from senior corporate management in Petronas.)

13. N.36 LAYAR – Vernon Aji Kedit, Male, 48, Dayak Iban (Graduated from the University of Staffordshire, UK, with Letters of Law (Bachelor Honours), publishes academic works on Iban anthropology, former GLC officer, former corporate management consultant, and currently managing family business.)

14. N.37 BUKIT SABAN – Noel Changgai Bucking , Male, 55, Dayak Iban (Graduated from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Economics majoring in Development Economics, a former Public Sector Administrator-cum-Economist for two-decades, enterpreneur and businessman.)

15. N.39 KRIAN – YB Ali Biju, Male, ??, Dayak Iban (Businessman with a degree in Engineering)

16. N.48 MELUAN – Semana Sawang, Male, 43, Dayak Iban (Graduated from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, USA, with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and is currently an activist and electrical consultant.)

17. N.49 NGEMAH – Thomas Laja, Male, 62, Dayak Iban (Graduated with a Diploma in Education from Institute Perguruan Sarawak, retired Principal, former Chairmain of Sarawak Teachers' Union [Kanowit Branch], and reciepient of Anugerah Khas Pengetua & Guru Besar dalam Bidang Keberhasilan Utama Negara [NKRA] Pendidikan 2010.)

18. N.50 MACHAN – George Chen Nguk Fa, Male, 53, Chinese (Graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and Management at Lincoln University, New Zealand, and Master of Business Administration at Curtin University, Australia, currently lecturing Management and Commerce Subjects at Open University and UCSI twining programme, and managing family business.)

19. N.55 NANGKA – Abdul Raafidin Majidi, Male, 32, Melanau (Graduated from the International Islamic University of Malaysia with a Bachelor of Law (Honours), former Government Legal Officer at High Court Miri and High Court Kuching, and currently a Civil Lawyer & Syariah Practitioner in Islamic Law.)

20. N.60 KAKUS – Joshua Jabeng, Male, 65, Dayak Iban (Graduated from Universitas Advent Indonesia with a Bachelor in Theology, LUTCF [Fellow Life Underwriting Training Council, USA] and MII Diploma in Financial Planning, former Deputy Secretary General of Party Negara, ex-Secretary General of Sarawak Dayak National Union, and businessman.)

21. N.66 MURUM – Abun Sui Anyit, Male, 42, Dayak Kenyah (Graduated from Universiti Teknologi MARA with Letters of Law (Bachelor Honours), former President of Association of Sarawak Students UiTM 1998, Chairman of leading coalition of NGOs GASAK, Activist and Land Rights Lawyer.)

22. N.67 JEPAK – Abdul Jalil, Male,, Malay (Businessman)

23. N.75 SENADIN – Steve Teo Jia Jun, Male, 25, Chinese (Graduated from the University of New South Wales, Australia, with a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Marketing, currently managing family business whilst actively involved in various NGOs.)

24. N.76 MARUDI – Elia Bit, Female, 27, Dayak Penan (Graduated from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics followed by a Master Degree in Media Information Warfare from the Universiti Teknologi MARA, and currently a Belia Jaringan Orang Asal SeMalaysia.)

25. N.77 TELANG USAN – Roland Engan, Male, ??, Dayak Kenyah (Lawyer and Pastor)

26. N.78 MULU – Paul Baya, Male, 55, Dayak Kayan (Graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia with a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Economics majoring in Economics and management Studies. Former manager at a public listed finance company and currently managing family business.)

27. N.81 BA’ KELALAN –YB Baru Bian, Male, 57, Dayak Lun Bawang (Graduated from Melbourne University with a Bachelor of Laws, leading native customary rights lawyer in Sarawak, established case law recognising land rights of Sarawak natives in landmark case of Nor ak Nyawai v Borneo Pulp Plantation Sdn Bhd & 2 Ors (2001), frequent speaker at national and international conferences on NCR, former PBDS Supreme Council member, Chairman of PKR Sarawak since 2009, elected ADUN of Ba’ Kelalan in 2011.)
