Dayak leaders of PSB give full support to Wong Soon Koh

PSB Dayak leaders gave full support to Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, President PSB, on the need for the Sarawak State Government to re-examine the 2020 budget in view of the revenue collected from the sales tax of 5% on Oil and gas amounting to RM2.878 billion is questionable and may not be forthcoming.
 
Datuk Dr. Tiki Lafe, Chairman of PSB Tasik Biru Branch, said that PSB members felt that the State Government might have wrongly perceived that the statement made by Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh as an attempt to oppose the Government for the sake of opposing the 2020 budget development programmes.

Recalling the Chief Minister's winding up speech delivered on 17 November 2017 he clearly stated: ' I stand to be guided and corrected in policies.

I do hope that those in the know would come forward and give their advice to the government. I am willing to listen'.

Here, Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh made a point by offering constructive suggestion for the Government to reprioritize the development projects, bearing in mind that the State revenue from Oil and Gas is not forthcoming.

Tiki further stressed that the suggestion from PSB was purely out of sincere concern for the State's Financial situation. \

Datuk William Nyalau, Chairman PSB Batang Ai Branch, concurred with Tiki, that Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, through his undisputed and wide experiences as a Second Finance Minister for 15 years, offered a sincere, constructive suggestion due to the State's Financial situation based on the Chief Minister's budget speech for 2020 delivered on 13 Novemebr 2019 amounting to RM10.067 billion.

This amount is no longer tenable as the revenue was heavily calculated based on the expected sales tax of 5% on oil and gas amounting to RM2.878 billion, which is so crucial to the State budget and is not forthcoming.

The lower oil price will affect 5% royalties drastically and revenue from sales tax on palm oil products, timber royalty, dividen income and overall interests collectible will be very much reduced and these will definitely affect the 2020 budget on development projects and programmes.

'Furhermore, the over RM2.0 billions for the aid packages not appropriated for the contigency fund in 2020 will definitely impact the financial distress of the Government'.

'The consequence of the State's financial constraints had made Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh's call for a re-examination of the State's budget 2020 for development projects and programmes, as announced by the Chief Minister' said Datuk Masir Kujat, Chairman PSB Balai Ringin Branch.

Therefore, it is vitally important for the State government to re-adjust the overblown deficits for year 2020 by putting on hold or doing away with some of the mega projects of low priority such as the Second Trunk Road, LRT and the like.

Masir further agreed with Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh that the Government should avoid venturing into unfamiliar territory of development projects such as Hydrogen plants and Hydrogen buses.

The PSB leaders fully supported Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh when he urged the State Government to take immediate steps in reviewing the whole development initiatives for 2020 in order not to put excessive strains on the State's financial resources. - May 15, 2020

No new Covid-19 cases, six recoveries and have been discharged from hospitals

JAWATANKUASA PENGURUSAN BENCANA NEGERI SARAWAK KENYATAAN MEDIA SEGERA SARAWAK HARI INI  TIDAK ADA KES POSITIF COVID-19 DIREKODKAN 
1. LAPORAN HARIAN 
Sarawak hari ini tidak ada kes positif COVID-19 direkodkan. Pada hari ini terdapat 6 kes  sembuh dan discaj dari hospital. Kesemua 6 kes tersebut adalah dari Hospital Umum Sarawak.

Daripada jumlah keseluruhan kes, 74.45% kes positif COVID-19 telah sembuh.
Bilangan PUI hari ini adalah sebanyak 20 kes. Manakala PUI yang masih menunggu keputusan ujian adalah sebanyak 11 kes.
Pada hari ini, Bahagian Kuching telah bertukar status dari Kawasan zon merah kepada zon kuning. Kod berwarna kuning bagi sesuatu kawasan dimana bilangan kes baru dalam tempoh 14 hari adalah kurang dari 40 kes.

2. LAPORAN PEMANTAUAN PEMATUHAN PKPB (12 MEI – 09 JUN 2020)

Pada hari ini sebanyak 7,196 jumlah permohonan pergerakan antara Daerah yang telah diterima di 28 buah Ibu Pejabat Daerah PDRM seluruh Sarawak menjadikan jumlah kumulatif sebanyak 16,167 permohonan. Daripada jumlah kumulatif tersebut, sebanyak 14,259  telah diluluskan dan 880 ditolak.  

Manakala sebanyak 2,173 lokasi pemantauan hari ini telah dilakukan seperti Pasaraya (248), Restoran (370), Kilang (43), Bank (164), Pejabat Kerajaan (69), Pasar Tani (360), Tempat Ibadah (57), Tempat Riadah (35), Tapak Pembinaan (21) dan lain-lain (806).

Sehingga hari ini sebanyak 26,603 pemberitahuan sektor ekonomi yang telah dibuka diterima. Daripada jumlah tersebut, 19,103 adalah melalui atas talian dan 7,500 melalui email.

Pada hari ini pihak PGA telah melaporkan cubaan untuk menyeludup barang makanan melalui jalan tikus di Kpg Stas, Bau. Nilai tangkapan adalah berjumlah RM 112,000.

3. LAPORAN PELAJAR BALIK DARI SEMENANJUNG, SABAH DAN LABUAN

Sehingga hari ini kita telah menyelaras kepulangan pelajar yang balik dari Semenanjung, Sabah dan Labuan seramai 4,931 pelajar. Disamping itu JPBN juga telah menyelaras seramai 1,451 pelajar tempatan dalam Sarawak untuk balik ke kampung halaman.

4. KEPUTUSAN JAWATANKUASA PENGURUSAN BENCANA

Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Bencana hari ini telah membuat beberapa keputusan seperti berikut:
a) Memandangkan terdapat kluster baru iaitu kluster IPT di luar Sarawak yang telah dilaporkan, maka JPBN mengambil langkah berjaga-jaga hari ini dengan memutuskan untuk semua   yang tiba dari Semenanjung, Sabah dan Labuan akan diambil sampel setibanya mereka di Sarawak. Mereka akan disaring dan ditempatkan di hotel sehingga keputusan sampel diperolehi. Sekiranya keputusan sampel mereka adalah negatif, barulah mereka akan dibenarkan pulang dan akan dipasangkan “Wristband” seterunya menyambung kurantin di Rumah.  

b) Bagi semua penjawat awam yang berada di Semenanjung, Sabah dan Labuan yang balik ke Sarawak untuk bertugas, mereka dikehendaki untuk menjalani ujian (PCR) dalam tempoh 3 hari sebelum memulakan perjalanan ke Sarawak. Jika keputusan sampel adalah negatif, barulah mereka dibenarkan masuk ke Sarawak.

c) Bagi Hari Raya dan Gawai yang telah diumumkan sebelum ini, sekali lagi saya ingin menegaskan bahawa, TIDAK DIBENARKAN sebarang sambutan terutamanya kunjung mengunjung dari rumah ke rumah, rumah terbuka, menziarahi kubur, tahlil dan kenduri Hari Raya.

d) Secara umumnya, kerajaan negeri memberi kelonggaran kepada pekerja asing yang ingin balik ke negara masing-masing. Walaubagaimanapun, kerajaan negeri tidak memberi jaminan untuk mereka dapat balik ke Sarawak.

e) JPBN dalam perbincangan dengan JKNS dan SOCSO bagi mencari langkah-langkah yang sesuai untuk membuat saringan bagi semua pekerja-pekerja asing dan tempatan.

2. LAPORAN ANGKATAN PERTAHANAN AWAM (APM)

Pada hari ini, seramai 239 Person Under Surveillance  (PUS) telah mendaftar masuk di hotel untuk menjalani kuarantin, menjadikan jumlah keseluruhan PUS di 31 buah hotel adalah seramai 2,690 orang.  

Manakala seramai 3,829 PUS telah tamat menjalani tempoh kurantin.
