Nomadic Penans appealing to Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem

Press statement by James Lalo Keso, former Penan Penghulu of Long Lamai

Penan request moratorium on logging to save last remaining islands of primary forest for Upper Baram Park

We, the Penan, are a nomadic tribe living in the rainforest of Sarawak, a Malaysian state on the island of Borneo. Our lives depend very much on a sound environment, a rainforest that can provide us with all for satisfying our needs; our identity and social wellbeing depends very much on our ancestral lands, the territories our fathers and grandfathers lived on. These forests are our history, our present and are meant to be our future.

SUPP uses dirty tactis against Aziz Isa, says Voon Shiak Ni

KUCHING, May 4, 2016: PKR candidate for Batu Kitang, Voon Shiak Ni, today condemned the underhanded tactics used by BN to undermine one of her rivals, young DAP candidate Abdul Aziz Isa.

"I am appalled by the underhanded tactics deployed by the SUPP/BN to undermine my young opponent Abdul Aziz Isa," she said in a statement.

Voon claimed that SUPP had used Aziz Isa's own family member, a grandmother, to attack  him for his lack of work and life experiences.

"I believe we should be mature politicians and SUPP/BN should not have to resort to gutter politics. Victory must be earned with dignity and clean politics," she said.

"I urge SUPP/BN to refrain from using gutter politics and to promote a healthy mature playing ground," Voon, who is also PKR women national vice head, said.
