Zahid Hamidi, Pandikar Amin not the right persons to ask other politicians not to politicise MA63

KUCHING, November 28, 2017 -  Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDS Baru) slammed Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi over the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) issue.

It was reported that Zahid had called on all politicians and parliamentarians to set aside their differences and be rationale in discussing the issue.

He was also reported to have said that  it was an established fact that the majority of the people have accepted Malaysian unity in good faith.

PBDS Baru Youth chief Rapelson Richard Hamit said it is strange that Zahid Hamidi should call on politicians and parliamentarians not to politicise MA63, saying that both Zahid Hamidi and Pandikar were not the right persons to issue such statement as both of them politicians too.

" It is rather weird when a statement comes from the mouth of a politician asking other politicians to shut up," he said.

"He has no right to silent us over the issue surrounding MA63. It is an international treaty between three nations that form Malaysia," Rapelson said.

He said PBDS Baru demands Pandikar Amin Mulia to seek apology from the people of Sabah and Sarawak, saying that he would accept challenge from Pandikar Amin for a open debate.

"Yes, we accepted it. I hope he will say yes, too. Nothing to hide. Sarawak's rights in this federation have been eroded", said Rapelson.

He said the debate should cover
1. MA63, but also includes:
2 Land Reformation (Land Tribunal)
3. Political Reform
4. Equal employment opportunities
5.  Freedom of Religion
6. Stateless and citizenship
7. Composition of Federal Court judges to include one from Sabah and one from Sarawak
8. Rotation for Prime Ministership
8. A maximum of two terms for prime ministership
8.3 Limit to maximum two terms for chief minister of Sarawak
9. Election Delineation
10. Oil and gas Royalty
11. Employment jobs for Sarawakian in Sarawak
12. Teachers at least 85 % are Sarawakians
13. Local government at least 35% employment given to the Dayak.
14. Revoke Petroleum Development Act
15. 33.3% of all diplomats and staffers must be Bangsa Sarawak
16. Parliamentary seats must be as per ratio MA63
17. The state government should empower Majlis Adat Istiadat Sarawak (MAIS) to solve and having discretion of the NCR PMPG issues.
18. Federal government should recognise Sarawak as an equal partner with Malaya and Sabah by allocating the same amount of fund in the Malaysia budget and not the same amount as those of other states.
19. Federal government through its education ministry should retract their plan to close two teachers training institutes in Sarawak. If so, federal government should convert these two institutes into full-fledged universities.

"Anang baka tebu, manis ba pun tabar ba ujung. Tun Jugah had warned us at the very beginning of the Malaysia formation", he said.
