Batang Sadong Member of Parliament (MP) Rodiyah Sapiee said that every development application submitted by residents will be given due attention in order to improve the facilities and comfort of the rural community.

She said this when speaking at the Kampung Ensengei Iban Lama Pre-Gawai Makai Night Ceremony at the Kampung Ensengei Iban Lama Longhouse yesterday.

According to her, the application for the construction of a covered area or stage in the village will be examined for consideration under the federal government's allocation since the Sarawak government's Rural Transformation Project (RTP) list is currently full until 2027.

However, she stressed that efforts will continue to be made to ensure that the public facilities needed by the residents can be realised in a faster period.

Meanwhile, Rodiyah also informed that the approximately 200-metre long village road project that was applied for since last year is now at the site visit stage.

Therefore, she called on the penghulu and tuai rumah to help resolve any technical issues or objections at the project location so that its implementation can continue once full approval is obtained.

She also said that the Sarawak Poor House Improvement Programme (PPRMS) will continue in phases with priority given to houses that are truly in need based on the existing list.

According to her, allocations for development and welfare programmes can be coordinated either through Parliament or state legislative member (SLM) funds for the benefit of the local community.

At the same time, she stressed the importance of houses of worship by suggesting that the church or chapel in the village register to facilitate applications for upgrading assistance in the future.

In addition, Rodiyah also encouraged young people to play a role in helping the community, especially in applying for assistance online by taking advantage of the facilities at the nearby National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI).

He also called on the residents to continue to support the government, which he said has brought about various development including the construction of bridges and road networks that now connect many rural and inland areas.
