More Dayaks to join PBDS Baru? They include TERAS members and former members of defunct PBDS



KUCHING, September 27, 2017 - Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS Baru) is expecting more Dayaks to join the party in the feasible future.

Its president Cobbold John said his expectation is based on information provided by many former members of the defunct PBDS of their desire to join PBDS Baru.

"According to them, more Dayaks are following suit," he said in a statement, adding that some members of Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak (TERAS) have shown interest in PBDS Baru.

He said, many diehard supporters of the demised PBDS have realised that PBDS Baru is their political vehicle.

He said there is a rising enthusiasm among the Dayaks to have a party they can call their own.

"There are many supporters of PBDS Baru among the intellectuals from various levels of professionalism," he said, adding that the party has large base of support despite being only four years old.

However, he did not disclosed the number and stressed that, they will crossed the bridge when the time comes.

Cobbold said PBDS Baru is open to all Dayaks, regardless of their backgrounds.

"Yes, we welcome them in open arms. The door  is always open for everybody and it is good for partyless TERAS to join us as many of them are former members of PBDS and some from SNAP. They are all welcomed," he said.

"I was informed there are about 8000 former TERAS members in the central region. BN is not the right platform for them as BN leadership has rejected them while PH does not give priority to the Dayak Agenda," he said, adding these former TERAS members want a party that fits their political struggle, which PBDS Baru can provide.

Cobbold said the party also expanded their wings to the rural and Dayak majority seats and part of the strategies is also working very hard in the grassroots level as the support is
