Voon's proposer reserves his right to take legal action against Chong Chieng Jen

By Simon Siah,
Campaign manager for
PKR Batu Kitang candidate Voon Shiak Ni

During the nomination of our Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate in N.13 Batu Kitang yesterday, there was no problem at all during the whole process.

We wish to reply to DAP’s State Chairman Chong Chieng Jen’s statement yesterday and state that our proposer,  Narawi bin Palayan Miniandi is not a bankrupt.
Voon Shiak Ni speaking to reporters at a press conference.

Prior to the nomination day on the 24th of April 2016 at 10.45pm, I have personally done a bankruptcy search result on him as well as the candidate herself and our seconder.

The whole nomination process was very smooth and not once was any of our candidate, proposer or the seconder from our party in N.13 Batu Kitang being queried by the Returning Officer.

The atmosphere in the nomination centre was peaceful and with not much drama other than the delay which we were not told of the reason too.

We urge Chong Chieng Jen to check his facts before making accusation that has cause much damage to the reputation of our proposer who is also our grassroot PKR member. This is a defamation to Mr. Narawi and he reserve his right to take legal action if necessary.

Furthermore, since the Returning Officer has accepted the nomination of our candidate, Voon Shiak Ni, this is therefore a non-issue at all. Therefore, we deeply regret such accusation by Chong Chieng Jen.

Since we are entering into the second day of the election, we hope that we can all practice a healthy and mature politics.

Let the community of N.13 Batu Kitang to decide who will be their representative in the State Assembly to champion their cause. We will continue to put the community issues first rather than practicing emotionally vengeful politics. - April 26, 2016
