He said an ambulance is crucial for supporting the clinic’s operations, especially when handling emergencies that require immediate action or the referral of patients to better-equipped healthcare facilities.
“In terms of equipment, the clinic urgently requires an ambulance for use during emergencies.
“Furthermore, there are several other requirements, such as additional air conditioning units, patient mattresses, laboratory equipment, a kitchen for food preparation, and a water dispenser,” he said during his brief
to Semop Health Clinic, after attending the *Gerakan Massa Masyarakat Desa* (GEMA) @ KKDW (Rural Community Mass Movement) programme in Kampung Semop.
During the visit, he also had the opportunity to meet with the medical officer in charge Dr Aisah, as well as several clinic staff members, to gain an understanding of the current situation and the clinic’s operations.
Yusuf was informed that the current number of staff is generally sufficient to support the clinic’s operations, though some minor shortages still exist.
He emphasized, however, that the need for adequate facilities and equipment must be addressed to ensure that the clinic can provide the best possible healthcare services to the local community.
“Once I receive a complete list from the clinic, I will forward these requirements to the Ministry of Health.”
“This is important because the clinic receives approximately 600 visitors each month, comprising residents from nearby villages and longhouses,” he said.
Therefore, he hopes that the need for an ambulance and additional equipment will be considered and duly addressed, in order to strengthen the capacity of the Semop Health Clinic to provide efficient, safe, and effective healthcare services to the local population.
