The assailant rushed to the waiting grey Proton Saga
Aerobic - bearing a plate number QMU
5631 - believed to be driven by an accomplice.
According to police, the plate number belonged to a
Perodua Viva.
Teo said his assailant was wearing a full-face helmet.
The police are viewing the CCTV recording of the assault.
Piasau state assemblyman Alan Ling expressed his concern
that elected representatives have become the target of attack by unhappy
people.
"If they have grievances against the wakil rakyat,
they can always come and see them in a more civilised manner," he told
reporters after visiting Teo at the Miri Hospital.
"I believe the attack is
politically-motivated," said Ling, who is also Sarawak DAP secretary.
He said Teo is expected to remain at the hospital for
several days.
He believed that the assailant was aiming for Teo's head,
but hit the shoulders instead.
"He could have died if he was hit on the head,"
he said.
