BETONG, Aug 9 - Sarawak PKR information chief Vernon Aji
Kedit has been nominated as a potential
candidate for Layar in the next Sarawak state election.
Aji's nomination was proposed at the division quarterly
meeting at PKR Service Centre in Pasar Baru Medan here, last Friday.
The meeting, which Aji chaired, also proposed the
divisional vice chairman Noel Changai Bucking as a potential candidate for
Bukit Saban.

The potential candidate for Saribas will be decided at a
meeting on Aug 23.
Layar is currently held by Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri
Alfred Jabu while Bukit Saban is held by Assistant Minister of Welfare Lawson
Chuat.
Layar, Bukit Saban and Saribas state seats are within the
Betong parliamentary constituency.
In a statement, Aji said PKR Betong is ready to fight in a
multi-cornered contests in the coming State Election.
"This is to end all speculations and counter all
allegations by irresponsible parties that PKR Betong has not been moving on the
ground since the last general election in 2013.
"Now that the fruit is ripe for the plucking,
naughty poachers are staking their claim on our farms. "This is not right,
especially among so-called partners, and we have remained silent but now let us
publicly say that we welcome them in the spirit of democracy.
"Let the voters decide once and for all," Aji
challenged.
On PKR's readiness in the state election, Aji said:
"We are the proverbial under-dogs fighting seasoned giants of many years.
"We know our limitations, but we also know their
limitations, so we are ready to do," he stated.
