KUCHING, September 9, 2017 - PBDS Baru Youth is questioning the racial composition in the  Board of  Trustees of Yayasan Sarawak.

Rapelson Richard Hamit
Its Youth chief Rapelson Richard Hamit said that there are only two Dayaks appointed and one Chinese and the rest are Malays to the board.

"Out of 10 trustees,  seven are Malays, two  are Dayaks and only one is Chinese,"  he said today.

He said PBDS urges the state Barisan Nasional to rectify the imbalance in racial composition in the board.

"The majority people of Sarawak are Dayak with 47 %, so why are there  only two  are appointed?" he asked.

Worst stil, he said, the Chinese community only has one representative in the board in Datuk William Lee Boon Siang.

"How well does the state Barisan Nasional treat the Chinese's educational welfare? We are Sarawakians, thus everyone must be treated equally," he said.

He also added, the state Barisan Nasional must reveal the function of Yayasan Sarawak with the newly created state's Ministry of Education led by Datuk Michael Manyin Jawaong.

Rapelson also clarified that the party is not making a racist statement when questioning the racial composition of board of trusee of Yayasan Sarawak.

He said the party is only asking for equal treatment for all races in the state.

"PBDS is not a racist party, as we, too, fight for the interest of other communities in Sarawak," he said.

Yayasan Sarawak Board of Trustee is led by Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg as it chairman and Datuk Mohd Abu Bakar Bin Marzuki as thedDeputy.
