In a federal Cabinet reshuffle announced by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim this afternoon, Lukanisman  was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

He said during a three-year period as the Deputy Health Minister, he, along with the central and Sarawak health teams, had reviewed health policies to be more autonomous and to bridge the gap in the health infrastructure.

“What we will see in the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) is that hospital and clinic projects will start to take off such as Invasive Cardiology Laboratory for Miri and Sibu, the preliminary work on the new Kapit Hospital and the preliminary work on the Sibu Hospital’s additional building,” he wrote on his Facebook.

He said the others are the preliminary work on the Limbang Hospital’s additional building, Betong Health Complex,  Mukah Health Complex and the planning for the Bintulu Hospital’s additional building.

Lukanisman also said the Kidurong Clinic, Long San Clinic, Julau Clinic and Sepupok Clinic are planned for construction under the 13MP.

“Hopefully several long-awaited MoH facilities such as Petrajaya Hospital, Tabuan Jaya Clinic, Sibutan Clinic, Lawas Hospital and in Sabah more than 50 new replacement clinics under the Dilapidated Clinic Project can be implemented over the course of three-years with MoH,” he added.

Lukanisman said he received the news of portfolio change to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during a working visit to inspect the condition of the Segambut health clinic.

He expressed his gratitude to MoH, especially the frontline health workers who have been working hard to ensure that the delivery of the health service system runs smoothly.

He said it is a challenging three-year period as the Deputy Health Minister that has given him great benefits as a member of the government.
