SIBURAN, Feb 20 2026: Sixteen people from two families from Kampung Batu Gong, Kuching-Serian Highway, were forced to move to the temporary evacuation centre at the village’s multi-purpose hall as their homes were hit by flash floods early this morning.

Siburan Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) station, in a statement, said it received reports from the affected residents that their homes were inundated by the flash flood at about 5.50am.
“Upon arrival at the location, it was found that there was a low-lying area that was flooded with a water level of 0.30 meters,” the station said.
It added that the Operation Relief Team is still conducting continuous monitoring in the affected areas, saying that there are five affected houses flooded.
However, only two families have moved on their own to the multi-purpose hall without the assistance of the fire department,” the station.
He said the station is monitoring and taking information.
The 16 persons consist of four senior citizens, three children and nine adults.
