KUCHING, May 11 2026: Governor Tun Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar has reminded Sarawakians that it is their responsibility to ensure that the state continues to enjoy political stability.

He said political stability and racial harmony that Sarawak enjoys today are among the main strengths of the state.
"Each of us needs to be responsible for realizing an atmosphere that is safe, secure and may reassure investors, " he said at the opening of the State Assembly sitting today.
"This state of affairs is important because investors, players and international economic actors are more likely to invest in countries or regions that have political stability, good governance and societies that live in a state of security, peace and harmony, " he said.
He also called on all Sarawakians of many races, religions, cultures and different views and establishments to continue to maintain the spirit of unity, mutual respect and harmony that has so long been the strength of the state.
Wan Junaidi also reminded the people that in a borderless digital era, threats to public safety are becoming increasingly complex including cyber threats and the spread of fake news.
"With that in mind, all parties need to be more responsible in their use of social media and digital platforms so that societal harmony continues to be maintained.
"At the same time, the enforcement of laws needs to be continuously improved to ensure that the safety and security of the common man is always at a good stage, " he added
