KUCHING, Aug 12: Air quality in Tebedu has reached a very unhealthy level, with the Air Pollutant Index (API) reading of 206 level recorded at 8am today. being located at the border with West Kalimantan, the source of the cross-border transboundary haze.
According to the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB), the next door neighbour Serian district registered an API reading of 194 level or unhealthy level.
The other districts registering unhealthy levels are Kuching (172), Samarahan (170), Lubok Antu (168), Sarikei (161), Sri Aman (157), Bintulu (157), Samalaju (152), Sibu (151), Miri (133), and Lundu (112).
Mukah registered an API reading of 100, considered still as moderate air quality.
However, the moderate API levels for Lawas were recorded at 74, Kapit (70) and Bario (64).
