Parti Dayak says does not believe Sarawakians convinced by Masing's call to support Abang Jo

KUCHING, September 10, 2018 - Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB) said it does not believe that the people of Sarawak are convinced by Deputy Chief Minister James Masing's call to support  Chief Minister Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg in defending Sarawak's rights.

PBDSB president Cobbold John

PBDSB president Cobbold John said PBB, PRS, SUPP and PDP, when they were in the Barisan Nasional,  had failed to defend state's rights despite having ample time.

"Now they are under the umbrella of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), they want us to believe that they can defend state's rights and have asked the people to support them, which I believe will not convince the people," Cobbold said in a statement.

He said the statements from GPS ministers have given the impression that  they were never parts of the previous Barisan federal government.

"Making such statements now will not compensate for what they did not do in the past. It is ridiculous for them to believe that they could convince Sarawakians that GPS is  a total opposite of BN Sarawak, when they are the same bunch of ministers under a new house or set up," Cobbold said.

He said  Sarawakians today are smarter and consistently learning from the past political history, thanks to the technology which we have today.

"It is absurd to believe that anything which GPS has to say today, will offset what they could have done in the past years," he said.

Cobbold  explained that protecting and defending Sarawak's rights is a long overdue action by Sarawak government.

"Sarawakians ought to stand united in this fight naturally but the calls made by GPS only now, is seen as desperate act to stay relevant and for the sake of their own political survival.

"Sarawak Baru Alliance is ready to make the difference and seeks all Sarawakians to stand united and vote for new Sarawak era ahead.

"Since currently, Sarawakians in general know clearly what GPS is all about, it is time that we change it with a new Sarawak party to move forward. Let's  make Sarawak great again," he said.
