DNC: Postings by JIM - Jemaah ISIS Malaysia dangerous

By Simon Peter

KUCHING, Sept 2, 2014: A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO),  Dayak National Congress (DNC),  has urged the police to conduct a swift and speedy investigation against a Facebook account holder under the name of JIM-Jemaah ISIS Malaysia whose postings can lead to racial and religious conflicts between the non-Muslims and Muslims.

"The postings are very dangerous because they can undermine our racial and religious harmony in the country," DNC executive secretary Alim Mideh told reporters after lodging a report with the Sungai Maong police station here this afternoon.

"The police must trace the account holder of JIM-Jemaah ISIS Malaysia and bring the those responsible for writing the dangerous postings to court," he said.

"Individuals can do something dangerous if they are unable to control themselves after reading the postings," he added, pointing out that such postings should not have been made, in the first place.

"It is the belief of the DNC that  JIM-Jemaah ISIS Malaysia is instigating the non-Muslims and Muslims to kill each other," he warned.

In his police report, Alim said he was surfing the Internet when he came across a statement on  JIM-Jemaah ISIS Malaysia Facebook page about 11.43pm on Thursday night.

The statement read "sabah serawak adalah negeri kapir maka wajib ke atas umat islam menyembelih rkyat mereka di sana."

Alim said posting attracted eight "likes" and 111 comments.

He said the second posting, which was to explain the intention of the first posting, read " Yang dimaksudkan itu adalah DAYAK. MEREKA BERCAWAT TAPI MASIH NAMPAK KEMALUAN, BARANGSIAPA BERTEMU DENGAN GOLONGAN INI. PNGGAL LAH KEPALANYA."

He said the second posting on the JIM-Jemaah ISIS Malaysia Facebook  was posted today.

"Surely these kinds of postings are dangerous and that is why we are urging the police to leave no stone unturned in their investigation.

"Malaysia, although a multi-racial society, is a peaceful country.

"We don't want to see the people of Sarawak and Sabah fighting the people from Malaya," he said.

He said that DNC members are very angry after reading the postings and they want the police to take stern action against the culprits.
