KUCHING, Oct 22, 2014: Former Sarawak Teachers' Union (STU)
president William Ghani Bina is in critical condition at the Intensive Care
Unit of the Sarawak General Hospital following a road accident this evening.
Ghani, 59, was said to have been knocked by a car at Batu
Tiga, Kuching-Serian Road, past 6pm.
He was immediately
taken to the SGH for admission.
According to close friends and church members of BEM Kuching
who visited him at the hospital, Ghani suffered from serious head injury.
A neurosurgeon had examined the extent of injury to Ghani's
head.
Ghani retired as a teacher last year as well as STU
president, the post he held for 21 years since 1992.
He was vice chairman of the National Union of Teaching
Profession and chairman of the Sarawak and Sabah Joint Teaching Union.
