Johnny, 48, who formerly worked with an oil and gas
company, is a graduate in Mechanical
Engineering and also holding a degree in Journalism and Communications from
Carleton University Canada.
He is from Rumah Mujah, Nanga Menyebat, Lemanak in Lubok
Antu and also a PBDSB supreme council member.
Cobbold said Johnny is not an unfamiliar face in Lubok
Antu as the majority of the people in Lemanak and Ulu Engkari are his relatives
or knowing him personally.
"He has done a lot of charity works for the Dayak in
that areas, especially helping Dayak students to pursue their tertiary
education," Cobbold said.
He will face Datuk William Nyallau Badak or someone else from Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) in Lubok Antu.
Johnny is currently doing a full time in publishing
business.
He is the general manager of Borneo Media Solutions
(BMS), a subsidiary of Pegari Iban Production (PIP), which has so far published

The novels are ‘Terutu Jemu Ambun Lemai’, ‘Puntan
Pengerindu’, ‘Ai Ditetak Enda Putus’, ‘Kenang Pengerindu Tua’ and ‘Tekelambang
Singkang’.
The folklores collections are titled ‘Gempung Ensera
Nembiak Tusun 1’ and ‘Gempung Ensera Nembiak Tusun 2’.
The stories in the collections are based on unwritten
folklores passed down from the older generations like the deer and turtle and
‘Jelu Nubai’ (animals going fishing using tuba root).
Among the writers are Jantan Umbat, Janang Ensiring,
Caroline Asing, Richard Changgan and Howard Jilan.
