KUCHING, April 17, 2018 - A group called Dayak Nation
Institute (DANI) today launched a "Heart of Borneo" fundraising
effort to help Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDS Baru) candidates who will be
contesting in the 14th general election.
DANI chairman Rapelson Richard (centre) with PBDS Baru president Cobbold John and PBDS Baru women chief Sylvia John.
DANI chairman Rapelson Richard said the group wants to
see Dayak representatives to raise up issues affecting their rights in
Parliament.
'We support PBDS Baru because of its manifesto to fight
for the Dayak's rights," Rapelson told reporters today.
He said DANI welcomes anyone who wishes to contribute to
help the candidates, saying that any donation must be banked into DANI bank
account.
"We do encourage money donated by the public to be
channelled into the personal accounts of the candidates.
"This is to avoid allegations of misuse of funds for
personal gains," he explained.
He also called on the Dayak communities and
non-governmental organisations and civil societies to chip in into the fund.
Any cash donation can be banked into the account of "DAYAK NATION INSTITUTE" CIMB BANK
Acc. No. 8009164872.
He advised the donors to e-mail a copy of the receipt to dayak.institute@gmail.com
or whatsapp copy of the receipts to 0111-9882210 for audit purposes.
