Fisherman, 30, feared dead after he was dragged underwater by a crocodile

SADONG JAYA, Feb 17 2026: A 30-year old man was believed to have been dragged under water by a crocodile while he was casting a net under Sungai Buloh Bridge here early this afternoon.

Asajaya Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) station said the incident was seen by his friend who was also casting the net at the same spot.

“The victim, identified as Mohd Saizal Abdillah, is said to have gone into the river waist deep while fishing and was dragged by a crocodile,” the station said in a statement.

It added the station received a call about the incideny 12.40pm by a member of the public.

The operation commander Abang Othaman Abang Sharbini obtained information about the victim and then conducted a search using surface searching techniques.

Search and rescue operations have been initiated,but have failed to find the fisherman.

The search will resume tomorrow morning .
