SADONG JAYA, Feb 18 2026: The search for a 30-year old fisherman, who was grabbed and dragged underwater by a crocodile yesterday, resumed this morning.

The search and rescue (S&R) operations consisted of seven firemen, five policemen, six personnel from the Civil Defence Department, three from the Sarawak Forest Corporation, eight from RELA and 17 villagers.
Mohd Faisal Abdillah was grabbed by the crocodile while he was casting net under Sungai Buloh Bridge, Sadong Jaya, just after 12 noon.
He was said to have waded in a waist-deep water when the crocodile attacked and dragged him underwater.
According to an eye-witness, Faisal was with a friend when the attack took place.
The S&R operations, which resumed at 9.30am, involved surface water searching technique, covering a stretch of 8km from the location where the victim was taken.
The search party has not seen any indication thus far.
However, two crocodiles were seen surfacing at the spot near far from the attack yesterday.
