SADONG JAYA, Feb 18 2026: A 30-year old fisherman, who was grabbed and dragged underwater by a crocodile yesterday, has been found dead this afternoon.

His body was found floating about 2.22pm by a group of fishermen involved in the search and rescue (S&R) operations about 3km downriver from the spot where the attack took place.
Family members identified the deceased as that of Mohd Faisal Abdillah.
Asajaya Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) station’s operations commander Muhammed Mirza Dzalmira Miraj said Faisal body, except for some bite marks on his abdomen, was in good condition.
Faisal was attacked and dragged water while he was casting net under Sungai Buloh bridge, just after 12 noon yesterday.
He was said to have cast the net in a waist-deep river water when the attack took place.
His friend, who was nearby, watched his friend being disappeared underwater.
The S&R operations were initiated later in the late afternoon at about 6pm it was temporarily halted, but resumed this morning.
The search party consisted of personnel from Asajaya station, police, civil defence Department, Forestry Corporation, Rela and villagers.
Faisal's body was later taken to the Sarawak General Hospital for post-mortem to be conducted.
