KUCHING, Sept 4 2026: Serian and Lubok Antu recorded a very hazardous air quality as at 5am this morning, according to the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) in its latest Air Pollutant Index (API) status for Sarawak.
Serian recorded an API reading of 473 while Lubok Antu 412, the level above 400 reading being categorised as very hazardous to people and public health.
Lundu and Tebedu both recorded a hazardous API reading of 322.
Kuching, along with Simanggang and Samarahan registered a very unhealthy air quality.
The API reading for Kuching was 272, Simanggang 254 and Samarahan 252.
The weather monitoring stations recorded three areas with moderate air quality.
They are Bario (82), Kapit (90) and Miri (97).
