SIBU, March 4 2026: Three senior citizens escaped unhurt when fire partially damaged their respective double-storey terrace houses at Jalan Ling Kai Cheng here this afternoon.

Sungai Merah Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), in a statement, said the cause of the fire is being investigated while the damages to the houses have not been ascertained.
It said it received a call about 1.45pm from a member of the public, informing that fire had broken out at Jalan Ling Kai Cheng.
The fire was put under control one hour later.
It said two houses were each about 20 per cent damage and the third was 70 per cent damage.
Sungai Merah Bomba named the three occupants as Tiang Ming Chiong, 75, Micheal Lee Meng, 62, and Teo Chee Yong, 57.
