Premier Abang Johari Abang Openg said Sarawak Day, which is celebrated on every July 22, is not just a commemoration of history, but also a symbol of the spirit of the people of Sarawak who are always united, respectful and work together for the progress of the state.

“The diversity of races, cultures and religions that make up Sarawak’s identity is our greatest strength.

“With the spirit of Segulai Sejalai, let us continue to move forward, strengthen unity, drive development and ensure that prosperity can be enjoyed by all people,” he said today in a special message in conjunction with Sarawak Day 2026 which falls tomorrow.

In line with the aspirations of the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030), Johari said the Sarawak government is committed to transforming the state into a high-income developed region driven by the digital economy, green energy, innovation, human capital development and efficient governance.

“God willing, with the commitment, confidence and cooperation of all parties, Sarawak will continue to chart success as a developed, sustainable and high-income region for the sake of today’s and future generations,” he added.
