He said they should allow younger and energetic candidates to take their places to contest in the election.

“We must not go against nature,” he said.

Abang Johari, who is also the premier of Sarawak, said that he believes that there will new faces from PBB to contest in the election.

“When the time comes, I will also be stepping down for the younger leader to take over,” he said at the Northern Region PBB Special Convention here.

He acknowledged that age is fast catching up with him, adding that at 76 years old this year, and although he still feels that he is young at heart, he will make the decision when the time comes..

“Leaders come and go. There is a time for us to express our grateful that we want to withdraw and let others take over,” he said, adding that those who are to be replaced should not be disappointed.

He said the persons to take over must be trained, know how to react with other communities and religions.

Over 3,000 delegates from 18 PBB divisions from northern Sarawak attended the one-day special convention.
