KUCHING, Sept 14, 2014: Come to Reservoir Park, at Jalan
Budaya, this Tuesday, Sept 16 to celebrate Malaysia Day.
Called Piknik Rakyat, it will be held from 8.30am to
10am. Piknik Rakyat is also held in other parts of the country, at the same
time.
Simon Siah, the steering committee convenor for Kuching, "Negara-Ku", is inviting all peace loving Sarawakians and
Malaysians to come to celebrate the occasion.
"But bring along your own picnic basket filled with
food and drinks, your camera and some placards as we will be flashing messages
of “Kembalikan Negara ku” to show that Malaysians are generally a peace-loving
community and we are against the racism shown by certain quarters."
He said that “Negara-ku” is endorsed by several NGOs to
combat the rampant increase of racism in Malaysia.
"We in Sarawak support this movement and we want to
kick racism out of Sarawak and out of Malaysia," he said.
