KUCHING, July 25 2926: Tun Jugah Foundation has honoured former deputy federal minister and Saratok member of parliament Edmund Langgu anak Sagah with the prestigious “Tuai Adat” title for his unwavering commitment to documenting and safeguarding the wisdom, traditions and identity of the Dayak Iban community.
The title was presented by the foundation chairman Leonard Linggi Jugah in a recent ceremony, Works Minister and Linggi’s son, Alexander Nanta, in a Facebook post said.
“It was a great honour to pay tribute to Edmund Langgu, whose lifelong dedication to preserving the Iban language, adat and cultural heritage has left an enduring legacy for Sarawak and Malaysia.
“While many know him as a former member of parliament, deputy federal minister and respected statesman, I believe his greatest contribution lies in his unwavering commitment to documenting and safeguarding the wisdom, traditions and identity of the Dayak Iban community.,” Nanta said.
“Through his work with Tun Jugah Foundation, he has ensured that this invaluable heritage will continue to guide future generations,” Nanta said.
He also extended his heartfelt congratulations to Langgu on being conferred the “Tuai Adat” honour by the Tun Jugah Foundation.
He added the honour to recognise is all the more meaningful as it comes from an institution dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of the Iban people.
“Some people make history. Others preserve history. He has done both,” Nanta said.
He also expressed his gratitude to Langgu for his immense contributions to Sarawak, Malaysia and the Dayak Iban community.
