He said the endowment fund needs to be managed prudently with a disciplined investment strategy to ensure continuous returns for the benefit of alumni and the community.

"I believe there are many professionals among you, many economists, many accountants, many entrepreneurs, many professionals.

"So tonight, I am giving you an endowment fund of RM5 million, and if you manage it well, God willing, it will last," he said at the Reunion and Charity Dinner of the Tanjung Lobang College Alumni Association at a leading hotel last night.

The premier added that the endowment fund could be used to organise academic forums bringing together young people and the community to share ideas and enhance understanding of the current changing economic landscape.

He explained that organising academic activities could give the people of Sarawak an up-to-date global perspective, thereby achieving the objective of helping the younger generation and the community navigate the new era.

He urged Tanjung Lobang alumni to share their experiences and achievements with the younger generation to serve as a source of inspiration and motivation.

He said the knowledge and experience possessed by alumni could help the new generation explore new opportunities in line with rapid changes in the global economy.

Also present were the premier's daughter, Dayang Norjihan, Deputy Premier Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Speaker Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, Minister of Utility and Telecommunicationsi Julaihi Narawi, Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Fatimah Abdullah and Sarawak Secretary Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
