KUCHING, Sept 26 2026: After weeks under the yellow category, Kuching and Samarahan have finally turned green.
As at 3pm, the Air Pollutant Index (API) reading in Kuching was at 92 and Samarahan at 82.
The green category means that the air quality registering 100 and below API readings is considered moderate.
Kuching and Samarahan join 16 other locations with moderate air quality.
However, Kanowit remains the only location with a very unhealthy quality, registering an API reading at 201 level.
According to the data of the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB), Serian and Simanggang registered an unhealthy air quality.
The API reading in Serian was at 116 and Simanggang, 107.
